A Brief History of EXO
First entry in my "blog" hehe. I really don't know what to put here but I suppose that will come with time. I usually limit myself to expression via abstract means, so direct communication is kind of alien to me. Nevertheless, I will attempt to provide some "meaningful" chit chat, amongst other stuff. So Bear with me.
I present, A Brief History of EXO ..(Click the post or "Read More" to expand the full story)
December 13 1981 - Wojciech Jaruzelski declares the state of martial law in Poland to prevent dismantling of the communist system by Solidarity.
Coincidentally on this very same date, I was born, in Batemans Bay Australia , Possibly neutralizing any polish dissent within the hospital staff as it was agreed upon by all that I was the cutest thing to ever grace the hospital. However to this day I have not determined the impact of my life , as it has yet to reach a conclusion (Will update blog asap when this happens).
Raised upon many false ideals I grew quickly to expect only the best out of life, only to find that there is indeed a fair share of bullshit for everybody. It was in my early teens that I grew addicted to "Hardcore Techno", which nowadays would be considered quite "softcock shit". As I have no way of reading the future, I was undetterred by the ability of the electronic music scene to genre-ize things into a unidentifiable pulp, and therefore went uninterrupted by sensibility for quite a while.
So i made alot of pretty horrible stuff , I would say my closest inspiration was the mid 90s Newcastle sensation "Nasenbluten".
As I grew more mentally mature , I got into more generic electronic massmedia, such as psy-trance, Jungle/DrumNbass , etc.. I made various things emulating the styles i liked.. nothing really memorable however , Then out of the blue I got right into the music of Frank Zappa. His crazy eccentric composition drove me to listen to all of his albumns, or as many as I could get my hands on. That MOTHER is prolific to say the least!..For a good while after that I was unimpressed by almost anything electronic I heard , or made for that matter.
But finally it was my exposure to stuff such as Autechre , Aphex twin , Boards of Canada etc that got me into what I do today, It was all so new and fresh , challenging and different from the mainstream, these people are clearly my greatest current influence.
I also had just met Stalker at the time. We were studying "contemporary music" at the same school, both of us unimpressed by the terribly mainstream curriculum when it came to electronic music. We hung out and played each other music we were working on , developing into an almost competetive exchange of albumns and changing musical styles, and finally this website :D.
Frankly if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have pushed myself as far as I have , mainly to "PWN" him mentally with my ever increasing need to fabricate insanity.
So here I am. I think I have a definitive "sound" now that is a result of all the above , and I am confident enough now to start releasing a bunch of music. But where do I go from here ? You tell me.
WOW that was long winded for my first post, and I didn't even know what to write until I just started writing :D
